The largest altcoin, Ethereum (ETH), surpassed its 2021 ATH in late August, reaching above $4,900 and setting a new record. However, following subsequent declines, ETH has been exhibiting quite volatile activity in recent days, falling below $4,000. After reaching above $4,700 just a few days ago, this surge was short-lived, and it fell back to the $4,300 level. While investors are closely watching which direction ETH will move, major bull Tom Lee's fund analyst Mark Newton said that the recent pullback in the cryptocurrency market is nothing to worry about. Fundstrat Global Advisors managing director Mark Newton added that he expects Ethereum to bottom in the next 1-2 days and then rise again to $5,500. This analysis of Newton was shared by Tom Lee from the X account. “I don't really care about the recent weakness of Ethereum and other cryptocurrencies and expect ETH to bottom out in the next 1-2 days and then start to rise again. I expect ETH to rally again after the bottom and reach $5,500.” The analyst stated that following the strong technical rise in ETH from September 25 to October 7, there was a small three-wave pullback, and he expected this pullback wave to probably end on October 11 and start rising again. Newton recently noted that Ethereum is correcting after its September rally and could drop to $4,200, which would provide the most suitable support area for the rally, before starting to rise again. “ETH/USD has corrected 50% of the rally since September 25 but is likely to bottom at $4,200-$4,220. This level will provide optimal support before ETH reverses upwards again.” Ethereum continues to trade at $4,330 at the time of writing.
