Samsung is joining forces with Coinbase, one of the cryptocurrency industry’s largest companies, to expand crypto access to over 75 million Samsung Galaxy users in the United States. In an announcement , Coinbase said the partnership with the South Korea -based multinational electronics company will see owners of Galaxy devices in the US explore cryptocurrencies via Coinbase One, the exchange’s all-in-one trading service. “Starting today, Samsung Galaxy users in the US will be able to explore crypto with exclusive access to Coinbase One,” Coinbase wrote. While the initial rollout of the integration targets US users, the companies plan to expand this to other countries and jurisdictions. Samsung Wallet users in the US can tap into a free 3-month subscription offer when connecting to Coinbase One. The companies are also offering a free $25 credit promotion for Samsung Wallet users when they make their first trade. Coinbase, Samsung team up, target crypto for 75m users Specifically, the integration will allow Galaxy users to tap into the Samsung Wallet feature for crypto services offered by Coinbase One. Galaxy owners can tap into Samsung Wallet to access the Coinbase app, with this allowing them to trade and explore other opportunities in the crypto space. “Together with Samsung, we’re pairing their global scale with Coinbase’s trusted platform to deliver the best value for people to access crypto — starting with more than 75 million Galaxy users across the US, and soon around the world,” said Shan Aggarwal, chief business officer at Coinbase. Features on offer for users looking to take this route into the digital asset market include zero-fee trading, staking rewards, and seamless crypto spending and earning. Users will also access priority support and exclusive partner deals, among others. Users to tap into Samsung Pay The companies have also added support for Samsung Pay/ The integration gives Galaxy users more ways to participate in the crypto market. Samsung announced support for Samsung Pay on Coinbase in July, with the payment method’s rollout bringing a deposit option to the Coinbase app for users. As the Samsung wallet combines both the Samsung Pass and Samsung Pay into one app, users are able to handle things like peer-to-peer payments, crypto transactions and many other digital activities, including digital keys, IDs, and memberships. “Samsung Wallet is a trusted tool to millions of Galaxy users, and we’re continually working to find creative ways to enhance the experience with added functionality,” said Drew Blackard, senior vice president of mobile product management at Samsung Electronics America.
