Whales Are Hoarding Bitcoin, Small Investors Are Selling: What Does This Mean?

Cryptocurrency analysis company Santiment, in its latest report on Bitcoin, highlighted the decisive role of whale movements in the market. According to Santiment, wallets holding between 10 and 10,000 BTC have accumulated over 202,000 BTC in total over the past six months. The report argues that this growth in these wallets is strongly correlated with Bitcoin price movements and is a key factor influencing market direction. On the other hand, it was stated that small investors holding less than 1 BTC have steadily reduced their assets in the same period, and have only made limited dip purchases recently. Santiment reported that whales showed particularly high activity before the record highs seen in mid-July, and although there was a slight decrease in trading volumes afterward, they were still quite active compared to six months ago.
