Tokenization has gained significant momentum in recent months, with major industry players moving trillions of dollars in stocks, bonds, and other assets onto blockchains. According to The Block, Bitwise suggests that modest adoption of tokenization could outshine all crypto narratives, making exposure to some altcoins an attractive bet. Bitwise CIO Matt Hougan and Head of Research Ryan Rasmussen said that the new tokenization process, from Coinbase to Robinhood, could sooner or later start affecting the prices of related cryptocurrencies like Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), Chainlink (LINK), and XRP. Hougan said: “I've always been on the fence about tokenization. But it's ridiculous that stocks only trade between 9:30 AM and 4:00 PM on weekdays. At this point, in light of recent developments, that's about to change. The main reason for this is that the tokenization market is huge. BlackRock CEO Larry Fink, arguably the most important figure in asset management, also said in his annual shareholder letter this year, “Every stock, every bond, every fund—every asset—can be tokenized.” Tokenization Could Benefit Ethereum and These Altcoins! Hougan and Rasmussen noted that tokenization could eventually come to the top Layer 1 blockchains like Ethereum, Solana, XRP, and Chainlink. At this point, the duo argued that a basket of altcoins like ETH, SOL, XRP, and LINK is the “cleanest” way to invest in crypto. Analysts noted that while Ethereum is ahead in tokenization today, the sector is so open and many players are vying for a share that it is difficult to say there is a single winner. “It would be unfortunate to prematurely predict the tokenization trend and bet on the wrong player. That’s why it’s important to correctly identify the crypto that will benefit the most from tokenization.
